Manga: - More How To Draw Manga Volume 2: Penning Characters (More How to Draw Manga)

More How To Draw Manga Volume 2: Penning Characters (More How to Draw Manga) It's time to learn the basics of inking and two indispensable stroke types: strokes with tapered and even ends. Combining tapered lines with blunt, even lines allows for the production of balanced artwork. Applying discretion in using tapered and even lines when drawing figures will help you establish whether a character is good or bad.
Customer Review: Didn't meet my full expectations but I'm not dissatisfied
Another good edition to the HTDM series or the MORE collection.

I got a good read out of this book today. The inking techniques provided are quite good.

I was expecting the entire book to be more focused on actual pen techniques however. The book skips around after the first couple pages or so regarding how to ink to make the most of creating that "manga-esque" effect.

I'd say only about a quarter of the book is actually focused on the inking techniques. The rest therein lies in characterization and all the various expressions seen in manga. All very useful information. And as expected of an HTDM title, the illustrations provided are wonderful.

Not a bad book at all for someone wanting to understand the various inking techniques used in manga.
Customer Review: Real nice refrence book
This is a pretty decent refrence book to penning and like all How to draw manga books they also show you some basic drawing ( i dont understand why they do this since they already have a MHTDM volume for it ). What I loved about THIS MHTDM volume was the drawing style as well as the angles, UNLIKE the first volume the art style is more current and not 80s feel like the first one. Provides info on what type of pens and pencils should be used when penning as well as shading info.
